Half Way Theory(s)

Have you ever been in a situation where you had to choose either yes or no, maybe was either an unexceptable answer or just non existant? What is really between good and evil? Is life just black and white, and there is no grey, no inbetween?

These day's, people really only look at the worst and the best things in a person or about something(black or white), but what about those stuck in the middle, those people or things that are just concidered average, are they really average (grey)? When talking to or about people, we tend to focus on certain things that make that person good or bad, cool or not, funny or annoying. Really its one thing or the other, but that idea changes from person to person, does that make them grey if two people have opposite oppions of them? Or does it lie in just the person's own personal view of another?

Another way of looking at this idea came from a good friend of mine, Mr. Nice Guy (I will leave a link to his blog site at the bottom). But one of his last posts mentioned how Nice guys out there are like the tortoise and the "bad" guys (egotistical, cocky, etc) are the hare. Of course the reference to the tortoise and the hare was a great way to show how nice guys don't finish last. But what about those men out there that can be considered both, do they exist, if a man is cockey, has dirty mind, big headed; but he does treat the women with respect, is a gentalman, and is kind and carrying at the same time, does that make him a tortoise or the hare?

What I call the Yin-Yang effect is a reference that might pop up once and a while, part of the effect is understanding the concept of the yin-yang, a "complete" circle, that is divided buy both black and white (or oppisite colours). In order for the full thing to exist, both parts need to be there. In the yin-yang, both parts co-exists but never "mix" to make a completly grey circle. This is a way of looking at a person, we see either the yin (black) or the yang (white), as each trate of the person lies within either the yin or yang.

Sitting on the fence these days is often heard line when wait for ones decision between two or more things. But to figure if it is black or white, may be a truth to whether we live by free will or by a line of fate, as if we lived on a line of fate, then black or white was already decided. If it is free will, then there is something that always pulls us a little more to one side or the other, that just may make us fall off that fence to either side, can we concider that to be a back and forth swing between black and white or is just another shade of grey?

All in all, I don't know what to believe, it all depends on the situation and how you want to look at things. To some, grey may just be a way of saying there are some good things on both sides, but don't those things belong to a black side or a white side, whether you fall on which side depends on the weight of either side.

Remember, any questions concerns, or even ideas for a topic, coment below or e-mail me at johnysimps@hotmail.com . But, hey it's just a thought...
